Mr. Sudheer obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Madurai Kamraj University. He holds double post-graduate in law of contracts from the ‘University of Madras’ and property laws from ‘Madurai Kamraj University’. He is the seniormost faculty in the department holding a commendable teaching experience of over 35 years to the undergraduate students and 25 years of experience to the post-graduate students. He is a retired principal of the ‘Government Law College, Tirunelveli’.
Mr. M. Sudheer - Professor
He has held eminent roles and positions throughout his career like question paper setter in all the esteemed universities of Tamil Nadu as well as in T.N.P.S.C. and even assisted in the formation of the ‘Vinayaka Mission Law School, Mahabalipuram. He is a member of the board studies, College of Education, Ramakrishna.
Mrs. V. Abinaya@Sindhuja – Assistant Professor
Mrs. Abinaya is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at SMVEC having teaching experience of over 3 years. She has completed her Bachelor of Laws from the Government Law College, Madurai (2013-2016) and Master of Laws from the Dr. Ambedkar government law college, Puducherry (2018-2020) and excelled out to be the Pondicherry University gold medalist in LLM. She specializes in criminal law and criminology.
She has also practiced as an advocate at the district court of Madurai for a period of 2 years prior to joining the field of academics. Her area of interest includes subjects like criminal law, family law, property law and Law of Torts. She has published a research paper in the reputed ‘International Journal of Innovative Research and Technology.
Mr. R. Vijayakumar – Assistant Professor
Mr. Vijayakumar has obtained his LL.M degree in labour law and administrative law from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry University. He is known for preparing versatile lesson plans, highlighting the fundamental principles and concepts of law. He has a teaching experience of more than 11 years.
He has fulfilled significant roles like being an Academic-in-charge, Moot-court coordinator, NAAC cum IQAC coordinator etc. He specializes in the field of jurisprudence, labour law, administrative law, constitutional law, land law, intellectual property rights, family law, company law, interpretation of statutes etc. He has also attended various national and regional seminars, conferences, and faculty development programs.
Mr. N. Kishore – Assistant Professor
Mr. Kishore started his legal studies in the year 2205-2010 at the ‘School of Excellence in Law’, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamil Nadu and completed his Masters of Laws at the same institute. He practiced as an advocate at the ‘Madras High Court’ and the ‘District court of Madurai’ for 7 years. He has a teaching experience of over 4 years and prior to joining SMVEC served as a faculty at the ‘Saveetha School of Law’.
Ms. K. Anitha – Assistant Professor
Ms. Anitha has obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College Chennai (2013-2018) and completed her Master of Laws (LLM) from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry (2018-2020). She has practiced as an advocate at the ‘Cuddalore District Court’ for a period of over 3 years. Her area of interest includes subjects like, criminal law and labour law.
Mr. S. Sathan Kumar – Assistant Professor
Mr. Sathan completed his Bachelor of Laws from the ‘Saveetha School of Law, Saveetha University, Chennai’ (2015-2020) and Master of Laws from the ‘VELS University, Chennai’ (2021-2022) as well as holds an additional Honours Diploma in Computer Application in CSC. He holds a specialization in the field of constitutional law and administrative law. He practiced as an advocate at the ‘Cuddalore District Court’ for over 1 year.
His area of interest includes subjects like criminal law, evidence law, law of contact and family law. He has published a research paper in the reputed ‘International Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics’.
Ms. S. Indumathi – Assistant Professor
Ms. Indumathi obtained her Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the ‘Madurai Government Law College and secured a gold medal in the Master of Laws with a specialization in property law. She has an overall teaching experience of more than 4 years and before joining SMVEC she was serving at the ‘SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur’. She has published 5 research articles in reputed journals like the ‘International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research’, ‘International Journal of Multidisciplinary Educational Research, ‘International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts’ and ‘Ajanta’.
Her area of interest includes subjects like competition law, public and private international law, trust and equity, public policy, and cyber law.
Dr. I. Kaviarasi – Assistant Professor
Dr. Kaviarasi completed her Bachelor of Arts in English from the ‘Avvaiyar Government College for Women, Pondicherry University’ and holds a Master of Arts in public administration from the ‘Arignar Anna Government Arts and Science College, Pondicherry University. She was awarded a silver medal for her outstanding performance by the Pondicherry University during the academic year of 2005-2007. She completed her M.Phil. in public administration from the ‘Madras Christian College, Madras University’ and holds a Ph.D. in public administration from the ‘Bharthiyar University, Coimbatore’.
She has an overall teaching experience of more than 6 years and prior to joining SMVEC she has worked in institutions like Arignar Anna Government Arts and Science College and Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Law’. She has two research paper publications in the reputed journal of ‘International Journal of Law and Social Sciences’ and has been a regular participant in various national level seminars and conferences.
Dr. V. Prabha – Associate Professor
Dr. V. Prabha completed her Bachelor of Laws and Master of laws from the ‘Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Pondicherry University’. She holds other degrees like Master of Human Rights and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the ‘Pondicherry University’. She holds a Ph.D. degree awarded by the Pondicherry University. She has been awarded gold medal by the Pondicherry University for her outstanding performance in Master of laws degree and in B.A. LL. B for constitutional law paper.
She is a renowned specialist in training and coordinating students for moot-court competitions. Her area of specialization is constitutional and international law and human rights law. She has an overall teaching experience of more than 15 years and has published 10 articles in reputed journals like JIRAS, IJER, PRP Journal of Human Rights, IJMER etc. She has presented research papers at various esteemed institutions as well as has been a participant in 7 national level seminars.
Mrs. G. Jayalatchumi – Assistant Professor
Mrs. Jayalatchumi has completed her Bachelor of Laws from the Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Puducherry (2008 – 2013) and Master of Laws from the ‘University of Madras’ (2013 – 2015) with a specialization in constitutional law and legal order. She has an overall teaching experience of 5 years and has an amicable hands-on-experience as she practiced as an advocate at the district integrated court, Puducherry for a period of 5 years.
Her area of interest includes subjects like, contract law, family law, professional ethics, and jurisprudence. She has numerous research paper publications in esteemed journals like the ‘JETIR’, ‘IJHSSI’ and the ‘International Journal of Law and Social Sciences’. She has a vivid portfolio of enriched training and experience from workshops and seminars held across the country.
